it-zinnia-heart:

One moment, Zinna was staring with a fuming frustration as May spoke her piece, and the next moment—C R A C K— she flinched and turned her face with the hit, feeling a burning sensations pulse on her cheek. It stung, it brought tears to her eyes, and it hurt. It hurt real good.

Now, anything that Zinnia had said, anything that May had said, they were all pushed aside by this odd, powerful, feral instinct that began to flood her features with ferocity. She tightend her body and grabbed onto May’s collar in return for May’s hold on the dragon tamer, and slammed them both down to the ground with intensity, Zinnia winding up on top for a moment as she dug her knee into her stomach.

Just what was she thinking? Well, she wasn’t thinking anymore. She was simply reacting to the flood of adrenaline and fear. There were no words as they tussled, not from her end anyways. Only a mash-up of growls and grunts, with a face that was unsightly at best.

May doesn’t even have time to avoid the blunt blow to her gut and, boy, it’s one hard to ignore; before she can stop it, a sharp yell escapes and she doubles back, form crumpling and buckled knees barely holding her up as she teeters in place.

Thinking rationally was officially out the window and Zinnia had made that much expressly clear— it was going to take a lot more than a few words to break through to either of them at this point. No, it wasn’t a game of comforting and consoling any longer, simply anger and frustration finally given the space to breathe it had wanted for so long.

By the time she can straighten herself out, the girl doesn’t hesitate to full on tackle Zinnia to the ground with such an abruptness it was shocking for even her. Reservations be damned, here they were— two of Hoenn’s heroes wrestling on the ground like immature little kids having a spat on the playground.
